October Snow--tober.

Yes, I am posting photos from October ...LOL! I am finally getting around to going through some of the photos that I took back during our Snow--tober!

This was the snowstorm that happened in October in which we lost power for a week. It was pure craziness. Since then, the weather has been a gorgeously warm 50-60 degrees in New England and we have been taking advantage of the nice days!

I must say it was beautiful. The juxtaposition between fall foliage and snow made for quite a picture.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend! We had a great Thanksgiving and a wonderful weekend. My last photo shoot of the year was last weekend! It was a maternity session.

Wild Ginger Photography is closed for the rest of 2011! I am taking December off to relax, enjoy family time, bake cookies, wrap presents, go to Santa's Village, ride the Polar Express, and enjoy this magical time.

This has been an amazing year! Thank you to all my wonderful clients. I have enjoyed each and every session!!

I still have a few sessions left to blog and they will be coming shortly :)

I will still be blogging during the month of December so stop by! I am also booking 2012 sessions, email me to schedule yours!

I had a blast with this family. Two boys always make for fun and interesting sessions!! There was lots of jumping around, some rolling on the ground, and some bribing by me...love candy canes :) Enjoy!

Happy Thursday everyone! Just one day till the weekend! I have a maternity session this weekend that I am very excited for!!

I met the Dickey's during my Holiday Mini Sessions. They have a 4 year old and a 2 year old so there was a lot of chasing going on :) I held the mini sessions at the Miracle Acres Christmas Tree farm in Milford. What a gorgeous farm with a breathtaking view. The weekend after Thanksgiving my family is headed there to cut down a Christmas tree for our porch. I can't wait to start a new family tradition. Jack is beyond excited this year for Christmas.

Sneak Peek: Turner Family

I met the Turners at Whites Park in Concord, NH for a family session. We had a blast! The weather was perfect for an outdoor family session.

We had some fun with snow!

They even brought their beloved family doggy!

This little cutie quickly became my best buddy. He called me "photo lady"...LOL.
At the end of the session, I was awarded with a big hug!!

I had the pleasure of meeting the Rigg Family for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Yes, I am a bit behind on my blogging..LOL! I met the Rigg Family at Bensons Park in Hudson, NH. Benson's Wild Animal Farm was a zoo and amusement park however it has been closed since 1987. It was recently redone as a park and it is a gorgeous spot and a wonderful park.

I am going to highlight Mom and Dad in this post and Thursday's post will be the entire family!

HELLO!!

Life has been insane! We were hit with a freak snowstorm on Saturday which left us with a foot of snow and no power. We still do not have power! I am praying and crossing everything that we get power back tomorrow. We stayed at our house for two days, with my parents for one, and two days in a hotel. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow we will be in our lovely home. I can.not.wait. It has been exhausting.

I have been editing a lot of photo sessions and here is Kimber!! Kimber is two years old and we met at the Livingston Park in Manchester, NH. Isn't she cute? She was so much fun to photograph, so spirited, and loved the bugs and dirt!

The poor kids had Halloween postponed from the storm! I can't wait to see all the kiddo's dressed up. My Jack is going to be a Cowboy and he is beyond excited! The new Halloween date is this Sunday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My weekend was filled to the brim with 2 wonderful photo sessions, cleaning, family pumpkin picking adventures, shopping and lots of good fun!

Almost a year ago today I started the Live Every Moment photo challenge and I have been blessed with meeting so many new bloggers. I have been inspired on so many levels. I have seen so many beautiful, gorgeous, and stunning captures. I have enjoyed the challenge immensely.

Recently, I've been doing some thinking and soul searching, and it is with bittersweet news that I announce that the LEM Challenge has reached the end.

I have been so incredibly busy with my new adventure, my family, and life in general; that I feel that I cannot devote the time necessary to the challenge.

I wanted to thank each and everyone of you!! You have made this challenge so much fun. I hope you understand :))

I was fortunate enough to meet the T family this weekend. What a gorgeous family. The two girls are 4 and 7 and just adorable. They were pros at modeling. By the end of the session they were coming up with their own modeling ideas! LOVE.

Deerfield Fair ~ NH Family Photographer

We finally made it to the fair! All summer long I have been wanting to go but the timing never worked out. The fair is so much fun. Jack loves seeing the animals, going on the rides, eating the fair food, lol!

His favorite animals were the baby pigs. I must confess, they were seriously cute. I love how they all pile on top of each other. Pig pile? Yup, adorable.

Jack said he wanted to see the pigs and kiss one. LOL. He did manage to see them ...but no kisses were given!

Really, how cute?

He also loves the rides. It wouldn't be a trip to the fair without capuring the ferris wheel.

Then, I had a little fun with some fund & funky processing!

Happy Tuesday! The weather has been gorgeous here in New England. We have had a little Indian Summer for the last few days. However, I am ready for a little cooler air. I know...I am nutty. I just don't like going to the Pumpkin patch in 80 degree weather...I much prefer 60!! I think the colder weather is coming so I shouldn't complain :)

Last night, I was playing outside with Jack and noticed this beautiful light shining through our Japanese Maple. It was around 6pm.

I happened to see these little red berries...I added a Kim Klassen texture

Have you told you how much I adore fall! I really really do. Fall is my favorite season. I love the pumpkins, the hayrides, the bonfires, the cuddling, the foods, the sweaters, the candy, well..everything. I also love apple picking! I have been twice this year and loved it both times.

This orchard had these wonderful crates lining the rows of apples...love these.

The apples were so very red. I have never seen such red delicious apples.

Just a perfect shade of goodness

When I got home I scrubbed and washed the apples. I noticed something on one of the apples. Do you see what I see?

Fabulous Fall & Winner for the LEM Challenge~ New Hampshire Photographer

On Sunday, we did some apple picking! One of my favorite activities to do for Fall. It was a lot of fun but it was hot and humid. I always envision picking apples in the crisp fall air...oh well! It was still fun, Jack ran up and down the orchard, picked some apples, looked at the trucks, and I made a yummy apple crisp when we got home.

Merrimack, New Hampshire Family Photographer: Raspberry Picking Fun

We went Raspberry picking in August and I am just getting around to editing the pictures. Life has just been insane recently. This weekend coming up will be the first weekend in September I will sleep in my own bed. That is craziness!

I really wanted to share these photos. We had such a great time picking raspberries at a local farm here in NH. The farm is gorgeous, the raspberries tasty, and Jack loved every minute!

Who thought picking wasn't fun..pure enthusiasm......

I just love the colors in this photo, the greens, the pinks, the red, the bokeh...all goodness.

He is so stinkin cute...thank goodness. He called his Daddy a "butt head" yesterday. Yup, three's are fun! The things they learn in preschool!

This past weekend, Jon and I had our first little getaway by ourselves (without Jack). This is the first time in over 3 years! We had a great time, we went to the nearby lake, went on a dinner cruise, stayed at a bed and breakfast, and enjoyed each other's company. Of course, we talked about the little man but we also enjoyed going out solo. Our dinner cruise on the lake was three hours and a lot of fun. The lake views were splendid and the sunset was gorgeous. Labor Day Captures

This weekend we went to my Brother In Law's house. We had so much fun. They live on a lake and the weather was perfect. The kids had so much fun playing outside, swimming, and playing in the sand. The adults had so much fun boating, tubing, talking, and relaxing in the sun. My In Laws brought thier new pup, Tug. How stinkin cute is he? I wanted to pack him up and take him home.

I adore my son's face with a slight smile, I love his Daddy's hands, I love the feeling of comfort, strength and love the photo evokes. I love that Jon's wedding ring is in the picture...it just all makes me smile!!

Thursday's loves

One more day closer to a long weekend! Yay, I can not wait. We have been so busy lately. It has been hard to catch my breath. On Monday, I picked up my new Canon 60D!!! I am so beyond excited. No more Rebel XS. Is it normal to be sad when you sell your camera? I was a little sad saying goodbye to it. It was my first DSLR camera, I took pictures of my little baby with it, cherished it, and it was the camera that my love of photography was born. But, all things must come to an end and I am enjoying my new camera!! I haven't had much time to devote to it this week but I did manage to capture the below during lunch.

I am VERY happy to be able to spot meter....

And really happy for a higher ISO (even though it wasn't needed for this capture)!

I adore this capture by Stephanie from Behind the Camera and Dreaming so I had to join in the fun at My Reflection of Something and do some editing!

Here is my edit. I really wanted a warm sunny feeling. I did a slight crop, warmed up and added some sunflare, and rounded the edges.

I'll never forget the summer because I have so many wonderful photos to remember it by! I love that in 20 years I will look back on these photos with tons of memories ~ and smile, cry, and remember what a great summer we had. I am not saying goodbye to summer yet...nope. My favorite shot this week (hands down) is this one. I love this shot. It is an ordinary moment turned into something wonderful. I love Jack's ever so little smile...It makes me smile.

One hand can emit so much love, strength, and comfort.

Waterfalls and Moose

This week at I Heart Faces the theme is pets! Yay, what a great theme. I adore all kinds of animals but I especially love dogs. They hold a special place in my heart. I have pretty much always had a dog in my life. On the rare occasion I didn't...I was begging to get one. After one month of being married, my husband and I couldn't wait any longer and went looking for the Moose. I contacted the local lab rescue and they had a litter of pups just come in. Our Moose is from that litter. Moose has the kindest soul. He is such a cuddle bug. He would love nothing more than to eat and cuddle all day.

This weekend we decided to go for a small hike in the town over from us. The town is about 15 minutes away and .5 miles down the hike you will find this:

It was such a pretty little waterfall. I slowed my shutter speed down to capture the motion. I didn't have a tripod with me :((

Next time we are going to bring a tripod and a picnic lunch. I can't wait to go back in the fall and capture this beauty against the fall foliage.

A trip to the Farm V.1

On Sunday we took a trip to the local farm. Jack LOVES the farm. He loves animals but most of all he loves the tractors! He would stay there all day if he could. We had a great time! We visited the animals and picked blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. SO SO Yummy. Of course, I never go to the farm without my camera. While we were looking at the pigs; I noticed a flower field behind us. Jack was actually a pretty willing subject!

I love how he crosses his hands...so stinkin cute. His first day of preschool is Wednesday! Wow, my little man is growing up :((

I also love his wild cowlicky hair. Some would have removed those wayward strands but it is who he is...and I love them :)

Vintage Jack

This weekend I took a few captures of my little man. He was in good spirits and a willing model. If you have/had a three year old, you understand that when they are willing, you jump at the chance. LOL. He was even more willing when he found out that he could have a lollipop after the shoot. And, yes, I bribe...a lot.

What a pose....he makes me laugh.

Sshh..Don't tell him the camera is backwards...he really thinks he is taking pictures.

Feathers, flowers, and church towers

Happy one day closer to my vacation and the weekend day! Yay! I have a few captures to share with you today. The first was taken outside in my backyard. We have all these little tiny flowers popping up. They are really quite pretty...I think I will leave them.

In a distance you can see a church tower. This was taken on a farm in Hollis, NH. I just adore fields of sunflowers and will be making a return trip.

We have been having a few visitors in our yard...turkeys! Yesterday in the afternoon, Jack and I were playing ball outside on the front lawn and there were all sorts of feathers everywhere. The turkeys fly up in the trees and sleep there at night. So funny. I am hoping to capture this shortly. It really is quite a sight. However, last night I only capture a feather.

Tuesday fun

Happy Tuesday, one more day closer to the weekend, and one more day closer to vacation! Yay, I can't wait for a few days off with my loves. We are going up north to Storyland in NH and the White Mountains. Can.not.wait! Until then, I will share with you some recent captures:

I used the "Aurora" texture from Kim Klassen on the below capture at 60% multiply and 70% soft light. I am loving this new texture from Kim. Gorgeous.

Next up is another capture from my newbie session. So cute, love his little tongue sticking out!

Last but not least, I decided to join the "Edit Me" challenge this week! This is my first time joining. I adore Mandy from a sorta fairytale so I had to join in. Her Bennett is quite possibly the cutest child (besides mine) of course!

Mandy takes awesome pictures and this was a pretty easy photo to edit. It didn't need much. Here is Mandy's SOOC capture:

Here is my edit. I cropped and rounded the edges. I did a slight curve adjustment, ran Florabella Envy, and brightened his eyes (a smidge)...

The other day we went to the farm and they had some gorgeous flowers. I am not sure what these are but they were gorgeous! I used Kim Klassen's "warm sun" texture.

Over at the lovely Ashley and Jill's challenge they are having "the skies the limit"! I was outside on Saturday with Jack and looked up and the sky was gorgeous that day. This is SOOC, come back on Thursday to see the edit.
